Success is not one big thing, because if it were, it would be very easy to achieve. To me, it is a combination of an awful lot of small things. Like a puzzle, you need to put all the little pieces together, and the one who gets the pieces in the right place, they are the ones who succeed.
My approach to training and coaching

I believe in combining the science of training, coaching principles and good old-fashioned horsemanship. My current interests revolve around the training programme that looks at a horse's and rider's performance with the same emphasis. There are plenty of books written on how to train horses and how to develop their athletic ability. And yet only a handful of resources can be found on the subject of a rider as an athlete!
There is a common belief that riders who ride several horses a day, muck out and spend most of the days running around and competing will be as fit as you can possibly be as a rider. This myth has fortunately faded as more and more professional riders notice the strain riding puts on them. The Pilates for equestrianism has been known for quite a while and endorsed by Dressage riders.
Another program I found excellent is strongly advised by an international lady show jumper, an American Olympian - Anne Kursinski (see Resources page for more information). Professional dressage riders, eventers, show jumpers, long distance riders, western style riders and most of all, amateurs who hold office jobs and ride in the evenings and compete at the weekends they all benefit greatly from the specific fitness and nutrition programmes. Much like a well trained, well ridden, well fed and well looked after horse can perform to its top ability, a rider who, on top of being taught sport-specific skills, is coached to understand his or her athletic development, the role of systematically planned and reflected on training, good nutrition etc is able to match the performance of his partner in the sport.
Providing such training to horses and riders is what I strive to achieve. Whether you have just begun to investigate the intricacies of the equestrian sport, have just bought a youngster you need help with, are an amateur with a competitive edge or an experienced rider in need of a committed coach to help with training plans and competition schedule, I am looking forward to hearing from you.
